Raasmela (also spelled as Rashmela; রাসমেলা in Bengali) is an annual festival organized in mid November at Dublar Char (Alor Kol) of the Sundarbans with participation of devotees and forest peoples i.e., bawali (wood & nypa palm collectors), moual (honey collectors), jele (fishermen), chunari (lime-makers) and others including inhabitants of Sundarbans adjacent areas and tourists.
ROUTES
There are eight routes fixed by the Forest Department of Bangladesh to participate in Raasmela. The routes are:
Route 1: Dhangmari (or Chandpai) -> Triangle Island -> Dubla Island
Route 2: Bogi -> Baleswar River -> Supoti -> Kachikhali -> Shelar Char -> Dubla Island
Route 3: Sharankhola -> Supoti -> Shelar Char -> Dubla Island
Route 4: Buri Goalini -> Batula River -> Bal River -> Patakosta Canal -> Hangsaraj River -> Dubla Island
